Shahid Afridi, the Pakistani Pathan who started his career as leg spinner, scored century in just his 2nd match on just 37 balls, which was the fastest ever by any batsmen until 1st Jan 2014, Corey Anderson Smashed 36 Ball Century against West Indies. On 21st June 2010 Afridi becomes the most sixes hitter in ODI’s, surpassing the great Jayasuriya, who hit 270 sixes in his career.

He has a total record of 9394 runs in total, having scored so with a strike rate of 85.61. His runs include 1050 boundaries, along with 252 sixes. He is considered as one of the best batsmen in short-over cricket, and is the first batsman in the history of World Cup to score a double century when he hit 200 run in the match against Zimbabwe during the World Cup 2015.

Former Sri Lankan representative Tillakaratne Dilshan, a rare cricketer who could bat, bowl, field and keep wickets, is one of the best run-chasers in ODI. During his career from 1999 to 2016, he played in 303 innings of 300 matches, and scored 1111 fours along with 55 sixes in them. He thus gathered 10290 runs, with a strike rate of 86.23. He invented the ‘scoop’ style in which the shot of the batsman goes over the wicket-keeper. This shot has now come to be known as the ‘dilscoop’, after the Sri Lankan.

In the eighth place on the list of players with the most career sixes ODI’s and fours is Sri Lanka’s former cricketer Mahela Jayawardene, who, as captain, achieved the highest number of wins for his country with the best win percentage. He achieved a strike rate of 78.96 during his career and gathered a stunning total of 16020 runs. He played One Day international cricket from 1998 to 2015, and during this time, he performed in 418 innings of 448 matches. He scored 1119 fours and 76 sixers during this time.

7. Sourav Ganguly

Known for his go-getter attitude and fearless approach, Sourav Ganguly was part of India’s ODI team from 1992 to 2007 during which he played in 300 innings of 311 One Day International matches. He gathered a total of 11363 runs including a miraculous 1122 boundaries, as well as 190 sixes. He hit a strike rate of 73.70. His shots let his teammate Rahul Dravid to call him the God of offside. Even as the captain of the Indian team, he infused a fresh approach in his players, making them more confident.

He thus gathered an impressive 9922 runs, with a stunning strike rate of 96.94. Gilchrist had the record of the most ODI dismissals as a wicket-keeper, until he was beaten by Kumar Sangakara in 2015.

During his One Day International career from 1995 to 2012, he played in 365 innings and 375 matches, and made 1231 fours. He has also made a massive 162 sixes. He has a strike rate of 80.39, and gathered 13704 runs in total. Ponting was also one of the greatest captains of his country, and the period during which he played and captained the team is considered its golden era.

Kumar Sangakkara represented his national team, Sri Lanka, on the international stage from 2000 to 2015, and he has played in all formats. He forged some memorable partnerships on the field on many occasions. He played in 380 innings of 404 matches, and scored 1385 boundaries, along with 88 sixes, in his career, making him the third cricketer on the list of players with the most career sixes ODI’s and fours. He thus hit a strike rate of 78.86, acquiring an almost impossible total of 18048 runs in ODI!

One of the greatest ODI players to have existed in the world of cricket, former Sri Lankan player Sanath Jayasurya is still remembered for his powerful striking. The all-rounder played for his team from 1989 to 2011, during which he played in 433 innings in 445 matches. He has a massive run record of 13430 in total, having secured a strike rate of 91.20. During his ODI career, he has 1500 fours and a huge 270 sixers, thus securing the second place on the list of players with the most career sixes ODI’s and fours.
